Author Spotlight with Jacquie Biggar

New Release by Jacquie Biggar, Twilight's Encore

Jacquie: "I’ve always had a fascination with old theatres. In my hometown the same theatre has enticed adults and children alike for fifty plus years. And while it too has undergone extensive renovations such as the one in Twilight’s Encore, the charm remains the same.

My goal for this book was to bring some of that ambiance into the storyline and add a twist of suspense with a narcissistic villain and a young love gone wrong."

Excerpt:
“I hope the room was all right,” he said, not sure what to do with his hands now they were empty.

She nodded and moved to straighten the covers on the bed. The sway of her hips beneath his robe almost unmanned him. Hypnotized by her hands as they plumped up the pillow and traced the hem of the sheet with delicate fingers, Ty swallowed hard and swore under his breath.

“Pardon me?” She turned and caught him staring. His arousal was plain to see, and her eyes on him only made it worse.

“I asked if you’re hungry, it’s almost dinner time.” As soon as the words left his mouth he knew it was the wrong thing to say. Impossible not to think of the last time she’d been in this house for a meal and ended up as his dessert.

Invisible strings drew him across the room until he stood in her space, close enough to notice her agitated breathing and smell the musky scent of her desire.

“Ty…” she pleaded, her hands raised to push him away, or pull him closer, he wasn’t sure. And the moment she made contact it didn’t matter anymore. He gave in. Gave up.

“It’s too late,” he murmured as his arms drew her in. “I can’t deny what’s happening between us any longer. I need you. And you need me.” His lips hovered ever closer, drawn to the heaven he knew awaited him within her embrace.

“God Katy, please say yes.”

The Blurb:
One man's betrayal will seal another's fate.

Ty Garrett fell in love with Katy Fowler from the moment they'd met. When her father’s betrayal yank the young couple apart, Ty becomes bitter.

After a decade away, Katy returns to Tidal Falls with plans to get married in her family's theatre. But she hadn't expected to run into Ty Garrett, the boy she'd never forgotten.

When unseen forces endanger  their lives, can Ty save Katy and win back her love, or is it too late for these two star-crossed lovers?

Bio:
From the time Jacquie was twelve years old, she knew she wanted to be a writer. That year she wrote a short story called Count Daffodil after spending countless hours searching for ideas. The story garnered Jacquie an A and was read aloud through the school's loudspeaker system. Needless to say, after that she was hooked.

Jacquie grew up, got married, raised a family and left her writing urges to simmer in the background unattended.

She owned and operated a successful diner in her hometown for a number of wonderful years before deciding to live her dream of becoming an author.

Jacquie's first book, Tidal Falls, a romantic suspense novel about second chances, released September of 2014.

Take Five with Author Iris Blobel

Welcome to An Indie Adventure, Iris.  Tell us, what inspired you to write your book, I Think I Love You?

Hi, L.A., thank you for having me as your guest today! I Think I Love You is the 3rd book in the Australian Sports Stars series. We went on holidays to a small coastal town in New South Wales a few years ago and I wanted to use it as a setting for my next book. We had the finals in the “Australian Football League” … the rest is history. Book one Love Will Find You with Tyson as the main character was born. But while writing it, I fell in love with his friends Oliver, Markus, and Sarah, and they all got a book as well. Oliver is a baseball player, and Markus (with Germany winning the World Cup last year) had to be a soccer player :)

Have you been a lifelong reader of romance?  What are some the first books you remember reading?

No, I was never a big reader. I struggled through every assignment at school, which involved reading. Yet, once I settled in life, I was able to settle with a book as well. But I read across the genres nowadays, from crime to mystery and romance. If it’s well written, I read it.

What do you do to rev your creative juices?

I’d love to say: I go on holidays. But to start a book, that’s it. I get most of my ideas or at least the best ideas from holidays. Apart from that, I only write when I feel like it, not for the amount of words that need to be written a day.

What would be your advice to people who are considering a writing career?

Never give up and when others tell you to learn about the craft … sit down and learn about it. There’s some truth to it. There are too many books out there which have a great story, but lack proper editing and formatting, and thus aren’t as good as they could be (including one of mine :) )

You’re having a dinner party.  What character from your novel do you hope doesn’t show up?  Why?

Anita! What a b**ch. She’s Tyson’s ex in Love Will Find You and has quite an attitude. Yes, please keep her away from me!

Give us a brief summary of I Think I Love You:

Markus DeLeon and Sarah Winter’s lives couldn’t be more different…
After three years away as the goalkeeper for an English soccer club, Markus has been happy to be back in Australia. He’d missed his family and friends, including Sarah. He’s known her since childhood and often protected her from the teasing of other children and the troubling consequences of a broken home.

When they attend their friends’ wedding, a new light is cast on their friendship…
Sarah is fresh out of a bad relationship, and Markus has always been the one she can confide in. Maybe it’s the magic of the wedding—or how stunning he looks in a tux—but the attraction between them intensifies in ways they’d never imagined.

But sometimes when risking what you have, you might lose everything…
Following a passionate encounter, Markus isn’t sure how to handle this new aspect of his relationship with Sarah and literally flees the scene for the coast. Sarah is unsure how to react to his sudden departure but is soon knocked off course by misunderstandings and a frightening family emergency.

Markus realises his mistake and wants to make things right, but he also faces obstacles. He’s been offered an exciting new job, and an attractive newcomer to the neighbourhood is eager to claim his attention though the last thing Markus needs is another confusing relationship.

Can Sarah and Markus face the fear and doubt—and the potential loss of their lifelong friendship—to give their love a chance?
